Getting Started

Some basics about MySpace

What is MySpace?

MySpace is the largest web2.0 social web site on the Internet. Made of many thousands of members. It is a cyber community to exchange music, make friends, and share information. It is a ideal platform for new bands to promote their bands and independent label releases. It is a great place to meet new friends and even find your new partner!

What MySpace is not

It is not a place where you can get away with spamming or promoting commercial products and services. MySpace aggressively goes after spammers! Any one can report a spammer!

How to market on MySpace?

If spamming and advertising is frowned at, how then does one hope to market on myspace? Good question. The answer is to do it sensibly! By actually becoming apart of the community, and become a myspacer, you will be able to include your affiliate links in your profile, or link to a special page devoted to a affiliate or affiliate programs from your profile. The trick is to be sutle NOT aggressive!

You should also be aware that myspace has filtered out many popular affiliate urls, so you will have to use a redirect program. Also, javascript is no longer allowed.

Where to begin?

I suggest you create a account for you to test the waters with. Use a free email account from GMail or Hotmail or similar to create the account.

It will take you a little time to learn your way around myspace, it is huge! By far the largest community and web 2.0 site on the Internet, and learning how to use it does take some time!

After you create your first myspace account, fill out your profile. Even if you do not plan on using this test account you need to learn how to do every thing, and the profile is the most important part of myspace, so fill it out!

It will be in your profile where you can edit your layout, add links, photos, contact information, and short blurbs. So get the hang of it now! You may have noticed that every one's profile layout looks cooler then yours and there doesn't seem to be any way to change yours. Don't worry this is next!

Changing your layout

Changing your layout is actually very easy. There are two main ways you can accomplish this.

1. You can google "myspace layouts", and find one already made for you to copy and paste.
2. You can google "layout editor", and create your own from scratch.

I prefer to make my own from scratch, it's pretty easy with any layout editor, and there are no shortages of editors, graphics, hacks, and tips on the web. All you need to do is google it!

Adding your new layout is very easy. After you select or make a layout, you copy it and then go to your edit profile, and at the end of About Me section, just past the layout, save changes and you now have a new layout. Layouts are simply css and some html.

Getting Friends

The next thing you will want to do is learn how to get new friends. It is this process that will yield you your new leads. To accomplish this you click in the "browse" button on the top toolbar. From there you can narrow your search to different values. The results will be people that fit your search values. You simply click on a member, it goes to their profile page, and there is a members menu there with a "add friend" option. By clicking on that it sends them a email with your request to add them as a friend. Most will accept!

Your objective here is to build up a decent size friends list. The more the better! Some people actually sell these lists on ebay too! When you have at least 20-50 you can start sending out messages. This is where you can say thank you for accepting your request, looking forward to communicating with them, etc. And also in a subtle way work in a way to get them to click on your link, which will either be a affiliate link, link to your profile, or link to another web page you made just for myspace to advertise on.

It's important to remember that out right spam or advertising is not welcomed at all and can be immediately flagged! However if you can master how to be a genuine "myspacer" and practice passive advertising, it can really pay off for you!

Manual verses Automation

Obviously all this takes time. It could take you a week to get 100 friends manually, with much work on your part finding and sending out requests. Or you can automate this process and accomplish the same thing in one day! Here is where Badder Adder comes in!

With Badder Adder you can find and send out Friends requests in a matter of minutes! You could find 3000 "possible" friends in minutes! But myspace has a 500 per day limit, and I suggest you stay around 300 a day! Go ahead and extract your list of 3000, but only send out about 300 invites a day.

Badder Adder simply makes this process so much easier and faster! You can accomplish the same thing with out automation, but it takes a lot more time!

Why Badder Adder?

There are a number of myspace automation programs out there, why choose badder adder? GOOD QUESTION! The answer is because Badder Adder was create by a MySpacer for MySpacers! Many myspacers use badder adder to promote their independent label bands! It has features other programs do not have! You can try a fully functional version for free. It will expire after 30 minutes, but that's enough time for you to know you want it! If you purchase it, it also comes with a 30 day unconditional guarantee!

Other programs do not let you try BEFORE you buy! Most cost more then Badder Adder too! And some don't even automate any thing! They are just videos and tutorials disguised as a program! Some programs cost up to $300 and still do not have as many features as badder adder!

Badder Adder
has a lot of features, verry user friendly, rock sold, solid support, regular upgrades, and get this, only costs $49!

Finally I totally endorse it and stand behind this program! My regular readers at Army Of Blogs already know I am a straight shooter! I only recommend the very best programs!
